Hall of Fame Inductee - AA State Champion Quincy High Boys Golf Team of 1990
They dominated like no other state champion in their sport before or
since. They are the Quincy High Boys Golf Team of 1990. QHS won every
golf tournament it entered—capturing the Don Sloan
Invitational—tournaments in Decatur, Pekin, Galesburg, Edwardsville and
they wound up as champions of the Western Big Six. Quincy High finished
an impressive 9-1 in dual or triangular matches during the season.
These sweet swinging Devils rolled through post season play, winning the
Jacksonville Regional, and the Belleville West Sectional before
shooting a team score of 619 at the AA State Tournament—beating their
nearest opponent by 8 strokes. In addition, senior Ryan Graff won the
individual title on the first hole of a playoff, finishing with a 2-day
total of 148. The team is comprised of—Coach Don Kelly—Ryan Graff—Chris
O’Connell—Tony Carnivale---David Pruitt—Andrew Cashman and Eric Yount.
