Hall of Fame Inductee - Alison Sellers
Quincy High School has had many outstanding athletic teams, and many
outstanding individual performers, but none like the one that dominated
women's golf in the late 1970's and none who delivered in the clutch
like Alison Sellers. Under Coach Jerry Carnivale, this group of young
ladies captured the state golf title, not once, but three consecutive
times during the years of 1976-77 and 1978. While she played well during
the regular season, Sellers had a way of saving her best for post
season play. She was among the state's ten best players her sophomore
and junior years. And as a senior, Sellers captured third place at the
state level. After earning four varsity letters in golf in high school,
Sellers attended Michigan State University on a golf scholarship. There
she lettered all four years, was named co-captain her junior year and
was the team captain her senior season. After Michigan State, Sellers
took her game to the LPGA Mini-tour for four seasons, before turning to a
career in business in 1990.
