Hall of Fame Inductee - Becky Barrigar
As a three year starter on the Lady Devils basketball team, Becky
Barrigar helped set a then school record of 19 victories in 1984. She
was both a scorer and a floor leader; traits that would work to her
advantage in other sports. Becky's tremendous ability on the softball
diamond earned her a scholarship to Illinois State University where her
name appears in the top 10 of 13 offensive categories in the school's
history. In fact, as of 1995, Barrigar was the last Quincy High softball
player to earn a scholarship to a NCAA Division I program. Becky's play
in the field and at the plate were key ingredients in Illinois State
setting school records for victories (39) in 1986, and topping that with
41 wins the following year. In her junior year, with Barrigar batting
.310 with 30 RBIS, I.S.U. qualified for the National Invitational
Championships. She followed that up her senior year by hitting .320 and
driving home 24 runs as Illinois State earned a berth in the NCAA
Tournament.
