Hall of Fame Inductee - Gary Thompson
Thompson, a 1965 graduate, averaged 15.9 points as a senior and helped
lead the "Cinderella Blue Devils" to a 26-6 record. Come from behind
victories against Decatur and Thornton earned the Blue Devils a spot in
the 1965 state championship game, where they were beaten by Collinsville
55-52.
A three year player, Thompson was just 5'9" but earned all-state honors
from the Chicago Daily News. He was named the team's most valuable
player in 1965 and was named to the all-state tournament team. After
graduating from QHS, Thompson attended Robert Morris College.
