Hall of Fame Inductee - Herman Schneidman
Lettered three years in football, basketball and track from 1929-31 at
Quincy High School, and was the captain of both the football and
basketball teams as a junior and senior. He received the Watson Honor
Cup and the school's sports award in each of his last two years.
Schneidman enrolled at the University of Iowa to play basketball, but he
concentrated on football after one season. He was a blocking back at
Iowa, and he joined the Green Bay Packers of the National Football
League in 1935. He spent five seasons in Green Bay, earning a place on
the NFL championship. After playing for the Chicago Cardinals in 1940,
Schneidman entered the Navy and played on the powerful Great Lakes Naval
Station team.
