Hall of Fame Inductee - R.S. Brackman
Served as Quincy High School principal from 1937-67, a time when the
Blue Devils' athletic program grew into one of the strongest in
Illinois. Brackman was a sports enthusiast who developed and nurtured a
special relationship with all players and coaches. He attended virtually
every athletic event during his tenure, and he will always be
remembered for establishing the lottery sales system for the
distribution of state tournament tickets. At the time of his retirement,
he said one of the changes that pleased him the most during his
administration was the increased community support of Quincy High
School's athletic teams. Brackman, considered a true friend of
athletics, was a charter member of the Quincy High School Sports Hall of
Fame.
