Hall of Fame Inductee - Rollie Platt
When a man's passion is also his vocation--good things happen. Those
good things have been happening to Rollie Platt and those he's touched
over the past 25 years. Platt is a product of the Quincy school system.
He caught the wrestling fever while still in high school. He took it to
the next level as a coach in the system. Rollie Platt got started as a
teach and coach at Quincy Junior High. He became the Head Wrestling
Coach at QHS during the 1979-80 season. Platt's efforts have been
recognized on a national level. The Quincy Invitational Tournament is
one of the state's finest--as is the Quincy High Wrestling Program.
During his tenure Platt has helped a number of fine athletes to the
individual Illinois State Tournament, including an impressive 8 members
of the Quincy High squad in 1998. During Platt's 20 years as head coach,
he's sent at least 1 member of the jQuincy High squad 15 times. Rollie
and Rosemary Platt are the proud parents of 4 daughters.
